Manchester Airport Train Station
Manchester Airport's train station has been awarded the "Best kept station" award by First Group.
The award follows major improvements to seating, signs, toilet facilities and ticketing machines. These improvements have all been aimed at
making rail passengers using the Manchester Airport station have a more enjoyable journey. The station was also highly commended for its
excellent cleanliness standards as well.

Network Rail has awarded a contract to Alfred McAlpine to build a third platform at Manchester Airport railway station. Work is expected to start
in the next few weeks and the 8-car platform will be available for use in time for the start of the December 2008 timetable.
The £15m project is being jointly funded by Network Rail, Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority and The Northern Way and Manchester
Airport plc is leasing the land needed for the extra platform to Network Rail.
